Associates | PartnersRecognising the valuable work being done in the education and careers guidance sector by many community organisations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and other bodies, NSFAS has developed a partnership programme, which allows us to work with such organisations to reach the communities most likely to need the services offered by NSFAS. Our partnership programme operates at various levels, each level representing a particular area of specialisation: Level 1 - Organisations that manage funds, such as bursaries, to assist young people to pay for studies. These organisations receive a budget from NSFAS to distribute as study loans to students they have identified as meeting the NSFAS requirements. They provide additional support to the students they work with - psycho-social support, academic assistance, etc. Level 2 - Organisations involved in career and study guidance. Level 3 - Organisations that do advocacy work on behalf of NSFAS, i.e. communicating important information relating to what NSFAS offers to school learners, out-of-school youth, community leaders, parents, etc. These organisations run programmes geared to provide guidance about life to South African youth, and they include the NSFAS information as part of their usual programmes. If you know of an organisation that could partner with NSFAS to do work of the sort described above, please let us know.
